The first thing you need to do is contact Maximus tomorrow to find out what they are doing with your claim. I'm afraid it is most likely that they have returned your file to the DWP for failing to attend.

If they have then the DWP will write to you for your explanation, if it was for medical reasons then you may be able to get your claim reinstated, it will help if you GP was able to provide some form of corroboration.

If you simply forgot then I have to warn you that it's likely that your claim will be closed.

If it is then you can appeal the Decision but it may take many months for a hearing with no guarantee of a successful conclusion. You are not entitled to any ESA payments while this happens.

If your claim is closed then you can make a new claim for ESA, but you will not be paid any ESA until you attend a new assessment.

If you need the income then the only benefits that may be available to you may be JSA or Universal Credit depending on your postcode.

All you can do is reply to the DWP and see what happens, it may help if you can show that you have problems with changes to your daily routine and starting and finishing tasks.
