Help with mandatory review please. was created by Lara
Can anyone help please. I’m so frustrated. Got declined pip asked for report and got it. It seems that what you say just doesn’t matter. Apart from one thing the assessor hasn’t told any fibs but on lots of things she’s said my behaviour on the day was inconsistent with my claims on the form. I told her that I mostly gave bad days (which is true) but that on the day if my assessment I was not having a bad day. I was honest and didn’t lie or exaggerate. I don’t understand how it’s fair that she’s based all her findings on seeing me on a good day and that means I get declined. Also the whole doesn’t look tired thing and the physical description wasn’t accurate. No mention of me being in tears etc. Any ideas how I approach this for mandatory review. Feeling sad that being honest (I’m not a good liar) means I may not get the help I desperately need. By the way I am not suggesting for a moment that anyone else is less than honest, just saying in my case I feel like its bitten me on the bum xx

Hi Lara,
I'm sorry your PIP claim was refused
Our PIP guide has a section that explains the Mandatory Reconsideration process and has a sample request letter.
I suggest you sit down with the PIP guide, your claim form and the assessor's report to see how you can show that you meet the PIP criteria and answer some of the assessor's points.
However, you should be very careful to spend your time and energy how/why you meet the descriptors rather than simply arguing against the report.
If/when you have further questions, please reply to this message and we will do our best to help.
