Writing "private and confidential" on ESA50 letter

I hear postal workers open our ESA50 forms unless we write "private and confidential" on the front of the envelope. If I wrote this, what then happens ? Does it delay things ? As I am close to the ESA50 return date but I don't like the thought of people unrelated to my case opening my ESA50 return, especially as I have lots of added forms and don't want the risk of things getting lost or detached. Thanks for any help.

Hi Benson,

To be honest, I cannot see that writing 'Private and confidential' will make any difference at all (I would expect it to be ignored)! Someone has to open and scan the forms and this is done by clerical staff rather than the assessors or Decision Makers. Postal workers will be under the same duty of confidentiality as the call centre workers etc.
