PIP AR1 Just came. was created by alan10one
Hi, I would like a little bit of advice from anyone a bit more advanced at this game than myself. I have been Ill now for about 6/7 years and I get the top Mobility PIP and Lower care. I am also in the long-term group for ESA. My home is fitted out with adoptions from my local authority who do all the checks with your medical record before they fit and I have a chairlift, wet room, Bed bars and bars at the front and back door to help me get in and also perching stools. My question is this. I am a worrier and don't want to bring all sorts of hell on myself so I ask you all now. I was going off to Scotland to visit family pre-Xmas at the start of November with my wife who is my carer and now I am scared the PIP people will contact me when I,m away to go have a face to face and then I miss it. I think to myself if I tell them I'm going they will play silly buggers with me and make life hard. I have read so many stories about how they can be. Any advice please, it would be gratefully received. Thanks Jim.

PIP Claims are usually reassessed one year in advance of the current award ending.

If you will be away for a prolonged period then notify the DWP, they my be able to redirect your mail to you temporary address.

In the past I have just put Not Available (and the dates) in the extra Info box.- I think there is such a box at the end of the form.

Thanks Gordon, No its only for about 5 days then home but when I send my AR1 form back they may ring to tell me to come for a face to face and when that call comes I may be in Scotland and miss the call. So should I tell them I,m going or just take a chance they will ring again when i,m home?

Include the dates that you will be away on the claim form.

They won't ring you about a face to face, all appointments have to be notified in writing with seven days notice, although this includes postage time.
