I dare say most people here only post when something goes wrong but like me, do read the forums quite regular. Well, my “ wrong” time has arrived. I got enhanced care & standard mobility 2 yrs ago. The award was for 3 yrs but of course they sent for me after 2 yrs. I have rheumatoid and osteopo arthritis which has deteriorated since then. Also neuropathic pains in my legs following spinal surgery. The DWP decision maker has reduced the care component to standard and mobility to none. So, quite significant. Next step is mandatory consideration, but I want the consultation report, as obviously, I want to know what the assessors report was. Is this still form PA4? Do I request this before the MC? Also, I got the results of my latest X-rays today which shows the Oa in my R knee has progressed so is it worth getting that report and sending it for the MC?

Hi Katykat, I am sorry you have need of us again :(

Yes, DWP usually send the assessor's report out on request. However, please don't delay submitting your MR request if it would take you beyond the cut-off date. You can tell DWP that you will send in more information when you have seen the report and they should allow you some extra time to get it to them. More information about the MR is on the PIP guide.

It would be helpful to show evidence of your worsened condition, a copy of the X-Ray report would be great.

Please reply to this message with further questions/comments and we will do our best to help :)

I’ve got some new test results and Consultant letter that wasn’t available when I had my assessment. I’ve rung DWP to request the assessors report and to request a MR, which will both be backed up by recorded letter. Firstly, do they need to be separate letters or will both requests be OK to include in one letter? Secondly, how long does the report take to arrive? Is there a chance that it could take longer than the 30 days I have, in which case should I send my request for MR off as soon as I’ve done it?
