Can you claim pip for yourself and carers for looking after someone

You might be able to get Carer’s Allowance if all of the following apply:
you’re 16 or over
you spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone
you’ve been in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 2 of the last 3 years (this doesn’t apply if you’re a refugee or have humanitarian protection status)
you normally live in England, Scotland or Wales, or you live abroad as a member of the armed forces
you’re not in full-time education
you’re not studying for 21 hours a week or more
you earn no more than £116 a week after tax and some expenses - these will be assessed when you apply
and of course the caring duties do not conflict with the reasons that you receive PIP.

Hi, I felt I had to reply, I have MS and my 14 year old has autism. On review of my pip, I lost pip, and in the MR and appeal documents, the DWP are using this against me. My caring duties do not conflict with my own issues. I have heard this is common for the DWP to use against people now. Do not let this put you off, however. My son was diagnosed age 5, I was diagnosed 6 years ago, but only applied for PIP 2 years ago. At the time I asked if the 2 benefits conflicted, and was told by PIP that it was fine. Now they have decided to use this against me!.
