Capita Face to Face Home Visit was created by Ann Matthews
I am wondering the same. I had two letters on one day and I am forced to have a face to face at home with Capita. I understand that they are not trained in complex disabilities and I am so scared, I can't sleep or relax as I am so scared about it! They only gave me 5 days to prepare and I sent my form with 42 pages of extra information and included was a letter by one consultant that listed 22 things wrong with me, so I am scared they will stop my money because they obviously think I am lying otherwise why force me to have a face to face? Any help would be appreciated, such as can I record it in case they lie as I suspect they will? Should I smile or not, will smiling and trying to be nice make them punish me, or will being miserable cost me points? So I am just so scared about it, my main carer will be with me and it is at home but can they look around your home, do they check your whole passport, if they don't understand your conditions what should you do etc? I am so scared and it is making me even worse!

I have moved your post to it's own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in others topics as it can lead to wrong advice being given or taken.

A face to face will be required where the assessor does not believe that their is sufficient information for them to make a recommendation on an award to the DWP without one. It's not a suggestion that the claimant is lying, just that they may not have not explained themselves well.

If you want to record the assessment then you need permission to do so and you will need to provide the equipment to make two simultaneous recording to tape or CD, you cannot use a digital device such as a mobile phone. Two cassette recorders should be acceptable.

The PIP claim guide has a section dealing with the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.
