ESA re-assessment was created by Lulu
Hi, after going through the gruelling journey of transferring from DLA to PIP which started November 2016 and ended August 2017, I have now been sent a form for an ESA assessment. I am currently on contribution based ESA support group and have been since i won my appeal in 2013. I don't understand why i am now being asked to fill in an ESA50 form?

All ESA claims are reassessed on a regular basis, you have been lucky as the usual maximum period is three years.
This is a full reassessment of your claim, you need to complete the form in detail based on your current limitations and supply evidence as you can.
Please make use of the current ESA Claim guides, there will have been changes to at least the DWP guidance since you were last assessed. See

If you have any questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi Gordon
Thank you for your advice. I have always used the claim guides. They are informative and thorough. Just to let you know I attended an assessment in February 2018 and happy to report that I have retained my contribution based ESA in the support group. i cannot thank you and your colleagues enough for all your help and advice. My only question is that the letter i received to confirm that i am still receiving ESA did not give me a date as to when i would be re-assessed again! Is this the case for everyone?

Many congratulations on the award.
ESA is an indefinite award with regular, planned reassessment, as a result Decision Letters for ESA do not include the any dates for the award ending or when the claimant will be reassessed. However, the prognosis period from the assessment report is used to set the date on the ESA computer system and if you contact the DWP office dealing with your claim, then they should be able to tell you this date.
