Hi!

I used to be on IB, was reassessed very badly in late August and found LCW under article 29 exceptional circs, (PTSD from being the victim of a violent crime at work). I think I sould have been in the support group, and so does the solicitor I spoke to today. I have until next Thurs to post off my appeal.

But, I have been offered the chance to go back to uni once a week for 27 weeks of the year to get a masters over 2 years. Could I do this if I sucessfully appeal and get moved to the support group, under atricle 35, (I assume)?

I would be so grateful for any insights. I am fuming about the dreadful way the DWP has treated me. But I'm also keen to try to find something positive to do, and after churning out a 9,000 word complaint to Maximus, maybe the person who offered to fund my masters is right, and I need a more positive outlet for my keyboard warrioring.

Can I dream of this, or will I lose my income if I try?

Regulation 35 covers the substantial risk of harm that a claimant might have if they were asked to perform Work Related Activity, there's a list of many of the activities that WRA covers in the ESA Claim guide for mental health issues. Many of these activities are the same as you might expect to perform by attending university, so I would think very carefully before going ahead with a course.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. I want to try, but if I fail, I want to know I won't lose all my benefits.

I think I'll ask the other question I have under another thread, just in case anyone else needs to know. (I hope that is ok).
