made the change over call was created by badoop
hello mods
well I finally made the call for pip form, even that exhausted me. I have been on dla for a number of years because of depression, and I have now got more medical conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis is spine and hands, I know from my own point of view I will struggle to fill in this form because of the exhaustion and pain as well as the negative thoughts that this will have with my mental health. I live in northern Ireland and during the call the person told me they had people to help fill out the forms and could maybe do the assessment at the same time,
I have never heard of this have you?
I have been supplied with aids from the O T for the shower and toilet and some other aids to try and make life a little easier, do I list these on the form and include the delivery receipts for these items?. Does it matter if you get some one else to fill in the form ? I thought about CAB as I know the form filling will just exhaust me completely. We hear such horror stories here in northern Ireland about pip and I know personally of a couple of people with fibromyalgia who have been refused award. Any advice will be welcome, thanks in advance

If they are doing what they do on the mainland then it is a person from the N. Ireland equivalent of the DWP that comes out and they are not qualified to assess a PIP claimant.

Yes list the aids that have been provided, I would also include copies of the receipts if they show that they were issued by Occupational Health. You still will need to explain on your form why you need to use these aids and the difficulties you have without them.

Someone else can fill in the form, either using your words as "I" or their words as "they", if the latter then they need to sign the form as well. Explain why they are helping you.

Obviously use our PIP Claim guide to help you complete the form.

hello Gordon,
many thanks for the quick relpy. I thought it was odd that some one helping you fill in pip form could also assess you. I was also told that you can get an extension of 7 days however from reading on here I have read its 14 days.
thankfully I kept the paperwork from the items delivered from the O T as I will include them with the form. Do you lose out on points if you use aids such as a shower seat and toilet seat?.
I know this is going to be an uphill struggle to get an award. I do have a great doctor who gave me a letter to support my claim and she strongly feels that I should get an award and said she will support me if she can, so need to get all my points across on this form. No doubt I shall be on again looking for advice, so thankyou
