Hi my names ajay,
Not quite sure what to say.
With your help guide downloads I applied to pip after they awarded me 0 points for both mobility and daily living, with help from my mental health team to apply for a mandatory reconsideration letter.
We also added to it about how nastily I was treated by the f2f and woman who should never (in my opinion) work with public who suffer the slightest bit of any type of mental health... I was so distraught for days after due to her manor and approach towards me.)
I have just noticed 2weeks later, I. Even. I today that there is money in my account from pip. By my friends calculations it is standard rate for both componants, which I am pleased to have.... (But my friend feels they are just paying me this to prevent it going any further as she did the point thing and feels that I should have been fairly appointed 12+points in both areas.)
I have a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder with severe psychosis.... Now got the new name.... Which can cause all sorts of problems by its self mentally... Also moderate and severe depression.... And the extra added unpleasant fibromyalgia along with poly arthritis.... Which is so bad now I can't wash myself, dress, or even attempt to try cooking..

I was just wondering if someone could say if there's any truth to my friends opinion, and if so is there any point in taking this further?
Please I'm not sure what to do.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The first thing you need to do is contact the DWP and establish whether an award has been made and what it actually is. You can't take any further action until you do this.

You should also ask them for a copy of your assessment report.

I'm afraid we can't comment on whether you should receive a higher award, we have no knowledge of your problems and how they limit your ability to complete each of the PIP activities.

If you think that you should have scored the extra points for a higher award then the first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;

"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"

than their opinions

"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.

When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
