Pip Question. was created by bernadette Ann
Good Evening.

My Health Condition has worsened, so I decided to re-apply for pip on a change of circumstances, i have had the medical assesment, also a copy of the medical report, but still not an answer, i was wondering if you could give me some kind of an idea how the final decision is asessed, does the decision maker sometimes overide atos, also my existing award gave me 4 points for mobility and this assesment i was awarded 10 points for mobility, none of if seems to go hand in hand, with the medical health conditions if suffer with... i was expecting more points for care, just a bit confused with the atos report...

Thank you for your assistance.

Although Decision Makers do change the points when they make an award, it's quite unusual for them to do this.

Are you saying that the report is recommending a reduction in your award? If you are then there is a small window for you to contact the Decision Maker with any issues you believe are in the report.

Hi Gordan, thank you for your reply,

I have a existing pip claim still running, and am receiving lower rate care, after an appeal for the pip claim i have in place atm. My health condition has worsened so I decided to put in a new application for a change of circumstances, I have received the Atos medical report giving me 8 points for care and 10 for mobility, the points I was awarded for my existing claim where 11 points for care 4 mobility, it is a bit confusing... but still havnt received the final decision from the decision maker, in your experience does the decision make override the atos report, because I feel I am intitled to higher care, but have been given more point for mobility, and in my last application was only given 4 points for mobility....

Thank you....

It would be unusual for the Decision Maker to override the recommendation in the report.
