Certainly use the PIP assessment report to help your ESA claim but you will need to explain it's relevance to the ESA Descriptors.

Be aware, ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

My face to face ESA appointment is in the 2nd week of December .My appointment letter came yesterday. As i have said ATOS have said that they have asked my GP for information but he did not respond..
My GP works only 2 days a week so I cannot get word to him until Friday this week at the earliest to ask him to fax info to ATOS. I am not sure if I should ask ATOS to rearrange my appointment to give my GP time to respond ?
Is there a time limit on asking ATOS to rearrange a F2F for ESA?
Thanks again.
Sorry to be a pest.

You don't have to do anything to rearrange the appointment until a day or two before the date, so wait and see what your GP can do for you.

Thank you Gordon , I have writted to my GP now asking him to support the request for a home medical and explaining my reasons and have also asked him say something very specific about my case pertaining to certain descriptors.
*I rang Dwp and asked if they would send me the original reasons i was placed in the support group .They simply said they do not have that information anymore ! I wanted to argue my case based on that info.
They also told me the reason I am being called for a F2F is that they cannot decide my level of disability even given all the info i put in plus specialist and GP reports. They said I had been reauthorised for Support Group in 2015 ...nobody told me that !
last time I applied i put the SAME info in and the same letters and they placed me in the SG without a medical but THIS time the same info is not enough ...how? My condition has only worsened and a recent GP letter told them that.
*Can I argue that my medical circumstances have not changed except to worsen ? And can i say that the same information I provided was good enough before to mean i was placed in the SG?

You may have qualified under what are called the Substantial Risk Regulations, if yo have then your problem is two-fold.

First the DWP have updated their guidance on qualifying for ESA via this route to make it more difficult.

Secondly, there is no presumption of disability under the Substantial Risk Regs., claimants must show that they still meet the criteria each time they are reassessed. Do you know whether your GP was contacted last time?

I'm afraid if an assessment has been ordered then you have no choice but to attend unless you can get the requirement removed and the only way to do this is to provide any information that is considered as missing.

Hi Gordon , Yes DWP/ATOS said they had tried to contact my GP when I first applied for ESA years ago .They said the GP had not replied so I asked the GP myself if he would send them info and he faxed it to them.I THEN GOT A LETTER SAYING I did not have to have a medical and was in the SG.
Then it seems in 2015 I was deferred for 2 years. ...I am guessing.
This time they say they have contacted my GP but had no reply...again. I will ask the GP to fax the info they want again.
I believe that when I got my original award of SG it was because they accepted that I was unable to walk 50 meters without severe pain and having to stop all the time. I was hoping that would be the case this time because my condition has only worsened .
