Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

That's because Contribution Based ESA does not come under the Universal Credit umbrella.

Depending on whether you are in a fully live UC area or not you can claim New ESA or old ESA(CB). The process is basically the same and the criteria are identical, but they are controlled by different legislation.

I see the DWP are being as helpful as usual.

You need to phone the UC Claim Line and tell the you want to make a claim for New ESA or Contribution Based ESA, make it clear that you are not asking to make a claim for UC. If you still have problems then ask to speak to a manager, this mat require a call back.
