ESA support Group was created by standswithafist
Hi, have completed the ESA Form 50 as requested. Previously been receiving ESA in the support Group for the past 6 yrs. On high rate PIP for care and low rate mobility after winning tribunal appeal.
I am horrified to hear of a delay of up to 9 months in some cases in processing the claim. Does this apply to only new claimants?

Am I right to assume that my claim is ongoing and that payments of ESA will be continuos until I hear from them?.
6yrs ago, they stopped my benefits when converting from IB to esa, which had a knock On effect so housing benefit and council tax benefit was also stopped while they wrote to my GP for a Medical report. Benefits were stopped for 13weeks at that time and I'm so anxious in case they do this to me again.
Apologies if grammar appears odd, having to override autocorrect.
Thanks for your help.

There's no distinguishment between reassessments and new claims, it's first in; first out.

Your existing award remains in payment until a new Decision is made.
