I ask because I've been moved to the WRAG group on ESA (autism, depression, anxiety) and haven't been able to cancel an appt with them yet. I don't really want to communicate with them, as I don't use the phone and I've not been able to find an email address for them yet. Help would be much appreciated.

My appeal is late because this time I'm having to handle it on my own and it's taken me a bit of courage to look at all the nonsense they've sent back and try to make sense of it. I note that they haven't sent me a copy of the ESA assessment as requested. Is this usual? What can I do?

I'm afraid I can't find any contact information for J2E.

You need to be very careful, it sounds as if you have been forwarded to the Work Programme, if this is the case then the appointment could be mandatory and you could be sanctioned for failing to attend.

Have you completed a Mandatory Reconsideration?

Thank you for replying, Gordon.

I think so. They said that they were no grounds for them to change their decision to move me into the WRAG group, because there wasn't significant risk to myself or others were I to engage in limited work related activities. The problem is that I hate people and am liable to kick off when they start being illogical and bullying to me. I have already had to start screaming in the DWP office to have them reduce appointments from weekly to monthly. Monthly horrifies me already and I'm not sleeping at all .

I've been told that I have to meet J2E - Journey to Employment but that I don't have to participate. I think they are lying. I will not sign any documents put in front of me. Will it be OK for me to write and photograph any contact I have with them? I do not wish to speak to them or anyone else, really.

Have you requested your appeal yet? When your appeal is accepted, the DWP will be notified and will make their submission to the appeal, this will include all of the documents used in the making of the Decision including the assessment report, you can then write your own submission.

You don't have to give detailed reasons for requesting an appeal.

Please be very careful with these appointments, they can and will sanction your benefit if you do not attend and your problems with communicating with them will only make the problem worse.

Whilst you are in the WRAG they can make these demands of you. Try and get face to face advice if you can, a trained advisor may be able to liaise with J2E and the DWP on your behalf.

Hello Gordon,

I asked for a mandatory reconsideration and all documents relating to my case. They have not been sent. Only a reiteration of the decision to move me from the Support Group to WRAG has been received thus far.

My appointment didn't go terribly well on 28th because I lost control, started screaming at the work coach and was escorted from the building.

I received a call from a number I did not recognise, so as usual, did not respond to it. I was later advised that it was the job centre cancelling my appointment for 28th and rescheduling for 30th, which was odd, as I have told them repeatedly to only contact me by email or letter.

I still have to go to the appointment on the 30th, and am hoping I manage not to slap anyone. Is there anyone that could accompany me at short notice that won't cost too me much money? I am no longer in contact with most of my family and of the few I am inclined to speak with know very little of my current situation.

Just had a thought - the Autistic Society? Can they help at all?
