Have just received my letter/booklet re SMI ending in April 2018. I have just had SERCO on the phone, and was informed that despite having no money and no chance of working - currently received ESA (WRAG) and DLA middle rate care - I will have to either lean on family for more financial aid or take out the loan.
Currently DWP pay approx 200 a month towards a mortgage I currently pay over 500 a month for - I have reduced my monthly outgoings to as little as possible and am always seeking to reduce them further, I am lucky to have a fiver left at the end of the month. I am all too aware that my situation is by no means unique , but I am getting oh so tired of fighting for everything!
A year ago I was suicidal and under psychiatrists-I do NOT want to go back!!
Any advice would be most gratefully received x

I'm sorry but this is not something that we can offer advice on, it is a financial decision that only you can make.

My understanding is that the loan and any associated gees are not payable until the house is sold or it is passed as an inheritance, so there should be no additional costs to you.
