Where to send Sick/fit notes? was created by Rob1
Just started a claim for ESA and my sick note/fit note is due for renewal soon. Could anybody tell me where I would need to send a Sick note/fit note? Do the DWP give any leeway on renewal dates ( I need to make a GP appt) Sorry for my ignorance but I'm new to all this ESA stuff. Thanks for any replies.

They need to be sent to the DWP office dealing with your claim, the address should be on any of the letters you will have received about your ESA from the DWP. Make sure you keep a copy before you send it.

You need to maintain a continuous Fit Note on file at the DWP to enable payment of your ESA, it should be possible for your GP to issue a new note a couple of days in advance of the current one ending. The period covered cannot exceed three months on any Fit Note during the first six months of your claim.
