Incapacity Benefit to ESA was created by Mikey
I recently read of the Gov contacting people who had been 'forcibly' moved from Incapacity Benefit to ESA. Apparently errors had been made and there are people who are owed money
I seem to remember being sent a letter in the past informing me that I was being moved from Incapacity Benefit onto ESA. Could I be one of the people owed money? If so - how could I find out?

The under payment revolves around the DWP failing to check whether IB claimants were also entitled to Income Related ESA in addition to the Contribution Based ESA that was actually paid.
ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
If you think you met the criteria for ESA(IR) at the time you were transferred to ESA then you should contact the DWP office dealing with your ESA claim.

They apparently have a list of claimants they intend to contact. Several members have already been contacted.
