Asked to help someone who failed a PIP tribunal

Hi! Just wondered if you could advise (not for me personally, you helped me with my son's PIP application which was successful :) ) - a friend has been helping her neighbour and has gone to a PIP appeal which she lost. She is very disabled due to long term mental health issues and I think it's probably due to her failing to put the case properly, They have asked me to help, which I'm happy to do. I know I'll have to mug up on mental health applications (my son's issues were physical) but I can't see if it's possible to reapply or challenge a failed tribunal. She is in the process of asking for a MR for ESA, although I don't know all the details yet. Is there somewhere in the guides that'll help with getting her PIP back? Many thanks, Jan

Supporting someone as a third party is extremely different so I would be cautious of offering the help.

As this is PIP they can make a new claim immediately although they need to understand why their previous claim was unsuccessful.

If it was an appeal Decision, then they cannot take it further unless they can show there has been an Error of Law, the first stage to doing this is to request a Statement of Reasons from the Judge of the hearing.

What is an Error of Law?
