New W@P guidelines was created by Michael
I have been unemployed for 17 years and converted from Incapacity to ESA some time ago without any real problem. I have been supported by a consultat psychiatrist for 20 years and he has diagnosed a severe social anxiety disorder, and proscribed complex medication to help me. My brother is my appointee and has been contacted by the W@P.All relevant paperwork has been submitted to them.
He has found that the W@P nevertheless can force you to attend workforce capability assessments, have home visits by them and have work coaches even though my consultant psychiatrist has stated in his letter that I am not fit for work full time nor part time.
Has anybody come across this kind of thing?
Help.

It sounds as if you are in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG), if you are then you are expected to attend Work Focussed Interviews (WFIs) and to participate in Work Related Activities (WRA) as you mention in your post.

To be excused these activities you would need to be placed in the ESA Support Group.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am in the support group and have been for some time. What I was attempting to ask is whether you know of the changes made by the W@P regarding people with severe mental problems? I have noticed a topic you have enclosed to see if it helps.

There have been no changes to the requirements that can or cannot be placed on members of the Support Group, however, the DWP are currently running a campaign to force SG members to engage with them on the basis a benefit check or the like.

However, as you have an appointee this would not effect you as the letters and requirements would be directed to the person who looks after your benefits.
