Benefit advisors/ Home Visit was created by logan tom
Hi. I was introduced to a benefits advisor by word of mouth, somebodies friend of a friend new someone who new somebody who used to work for welfare rights in our local area.
Who it turns is a con woman. I had a visit from her and explained to her what l wanted her to do which was to fill out my Pip forms from information l had on files. And add recent paperwork so as to update my claim. She said she would take away all my paperwork fill in the form adding updates where they applied. She returned my forms in the envelope ready to be signed and posted, which she said she would do as l am housebound. She gave me back all my paperwork,
plus the additions she said she had included. And a complete copy of the forms were included in the package. I was in a hurry to get the forms back to the DWP, so l signed the form and she said she would post it at the local post office. I paid her for her services, and off she went, leaving a mobile phone number to contact her if ther was any problems. Last week l received a letter from the assessors saying they had received my form, and would have to contact my Gp for more information. Today l received a letter to attend a face to face assessment on Tuesday next, the whole process has only taken 14 Days, from form posting to Assessment. I of course phoned to ask for a different date, and asked why lt had taken less time to look at my claim and send it to the Assessment stage. To which he replied that there was not enough information on the form to make a decision. After the call l got my file out and checked the form, to my surprise none of my paperwork or editions appear on my form, l am devastated, l don’t know how to sort this out, l have tried the phone number, not a real number. I suffer with COPD, angina arthritis and mental health issues, l am at my wits end, any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

All I can suggest is that you write a letter, first of all explaining what has happened and secondly explaining your problems as you might have done on the PIP2.

If you can do it on your computer and write a shorty explanation of your problems for each activity and then go back and try and expand this as you need to, repeat this until you run out of time of you have answered in as much depth as you can.

The PIP Claim guide will help you explain your problems.

Take the letter to the assessment and ask the assessor to read it before they proceed with the interview. I would also send a copy to the DWP office dealing with your claim, the address should be on the letter inviting you to claim PIP.
