Hi gordon thanks for your last reply; i do have one additional question. My doctor has written a supporting letter for my upcoming pip assessment which i have sent aong with a list of the medication i take and indepth information about how my illness affects me. Currently i receive dla and esa and i am in the suport group. Thie is hiw my supporting letter reads. This 46 year old lady has had ingoing severe mental health issues for which she has received therapy and is currently taking medication this obviously has a great mpact upon sonia and as such she is unable to work. Do you think this is sufficient evidence that i would still qualify for the support group and will it be likely i will be requured to attend a f2f. I do understand any reply is only an opinion. Kind regards

Forgive me but the letter is of very little value, especially if you are aiming for the Support Group.

ESA does not directly consider your ability to work, this is a conclusion that results from the assessment and on particular, problems with your being able to work would only place you in the WRAG, not the Support Group.

To be placed in the SG you will need to show that you meet one or more the SG Descriptors. See the ESA Claim guides for details of the criteria you need to meet.

Hi gordon, maybe i am not reading your replys correctly as i do have problems understanding. I am being assessed for pip only at present and remain in the support group for esa. So my question is if the pip decides to award me 0 and i have to request an mr will my sdp and edp cease. I guess im trying to ask are these paid when getting esa or dla and does a pip decline automatically stop these components. even when still in esa support group. Thanks in advance

You asked

"Do you think this is sufficient evidence that i would still qualify for the support group"!

To try and answer the questions you are now asking.

I would not expect your ESA to be reassessed if your PIP claim is unsuccesful.

The EDP will remain in payment as entitlement comes from your SG award, however the SDP will cease if you do not receive a PIP Daily Living award.
