Phoning through PIP MR was created by Flossie1971
Hi there. I have finally got a welfare rights advisor to help me with my pip mr. Unfortunately she cannot see me over the Christmas period and I have to have appealed my pip decision by January 7. She has told me to phone my mr through and then she will see me on the 4th when we can write a proper letter together. I didn’t really ask any questions - I was just so relieved I’d got a phone call back! I was just wondering what to say over the phone. I have put a letter together which I could read out to them but I don’t really know if I’m barking up the wrong tree and would prefer to wait on the advice from the advisor. Would it be best just to give the DWP the bare bones of why I think the decision is wrong when I ring? I’m a bit nervous about ringing tbh as I’m not good at talking to people.

You don't need to give detailed reasons as to why you are requesting an MR, you can say

"I believe that I provided sufficient evidence and testimony to have received an award"

The other thing you must mention is that you are going to send in more information when you can. They should give you an additional four weeks to do this, make sure that you confirm this, otherwise you risk an MR Decision being made before you see your advisor.

Hi there. Many thanks for your help. When you say this should give me an additional 4 weeks I presume that's from the time when I ring to request an MR?

Yes it will be from the phone call. Although they will give you four weeks, try and submit your letter no later than three weeks from the call.
