Well a week has gone by and still no copy of my assessment, so I decided to call DWP again, got straight through so that was a good start, but then it went down hill, when I called last week the guy said yes assessment is in and it has gone to the decision makers, so I have been waiting each day for the brown envelope, more anxiety over brown envelopes, still no sign so I called DWP again, and only to be told we don't have your assessment back yet! So my 3 week wait from the assessment is now going to be a longer wait, so more anxiety, so partly DWP to blame for telling me lies but more shame on Capita for not getting my assessment to DWP in the time scale they told me which was going to be the same day. So now another week of waiting for report with Christmas in the way as well, 3 cheers to capita for doing a good job.

I would chase Capita as to why the report is late.

Hi

I called Capita today and was told my case closed on 21st December and it was sent to DWP they wouldn't tell me why it took 8 days for them to send the report. So I called DWP after Capita to find out why the time scales are longer, I realise we have had Christmas, they were very polite to me to be honest, they said the assessment takes a week or more to get to them via the post from the date of the assessment, once DWP receive this it is scanned back into their system, which they received the assessment from Capita on the 28th December and it was passed to the decision maker on 29th December, then it takes an average 3 weeks to get a descision, a request has already been made for the report to be sent and they the call centre cannot get involved with chasing that, so after being told before Christmas it was 3 week wait from the assessment to now waiting a further 3 weeks from the date it was sent to the decision maker, so that equates to a 6 week wait or more if they need further information. The wait over Christmas was bad and now it's an even longer wait. The lady today did wish me luck. Roll on January 2018 to finish I know I shouldn't wish time on but life feels on hold for now.

Don't assume the person you spoke to on the PIP Helpline have accurate information about timescales, Xmas will have delayed the process by at least a week and maybe longer, but the information you have been given is not consistent with what other members are telling us.

Hi Gordon

We had no internet for 5 days so was unable to reply but things have happened in those days.

Where do I start. I finally got my report from my f2f for PIP and after picking myself off the floor, calming down and trying to get my head around it, it certainly is an eye opener.

It looks like I may just scrap through for enhanced for both but I am ready if not, only 3 questions out of 12 has she put down what we either said or we wrote. I bit about me, RTC in 1974 left with left side cerebral palsy, and deformed right elbow from breaking it in the RTC, looks like 2 elbows on one arm. I have medical evidence that I am not to use my right arm to preserve what little movement I have and I am in severe pain 24/7 my left side is so weak it doesn't function. So we used your guides put every little detail in put photo evidence in and medical reports. I had my f2f hubby helped as I have verbal reasoning problems again I have medical evidence, we told her I cannot cook a simple meal, wash myself, I have trouble holding cutlery, trouble meeting new people, etc, what did she do, put down I can do everything but use aids, I wish this would be the case, life would be so much easier for us, she said I am not in pain, she said I handed her my ID and walked 5 meters, I didn't get out of my chair, hubby handed her my ID also handed more evidence which I got after sending the forms back, which she refused.

Now DWP have the completely wrong picture of me, it does look and I am hoping because DWP have told me that they take what the hp has put down as gospel and the truth they give me the enhanced on both, the hp did get my moving about correct with 5 meters added on but she put down as an e.

I am so upset that she came to my house and wrote the opposite of everything I said, I wonder how she can sleep at night because if I was doing that I would never sleep knowing I am putting false information down.

Sorry but I am a little upset, I have seen the odd thing they twist but this was 9 questions she twisted.

Did you explain on your form why you can't use aids for these activities? It may be obvious to you that you can't but it almost certainly won't be for the Decision Maker who is not medically trained.

There is a narrow window before the Decision is made for you to comment on the content of the assessment report, but you do risk introducing new issues which may at the least delay the Decision and could undermine the points that the assessor has recommended.

So you should think carefully whether it would be worth waiting for the Decision and then making comment.

There is a list of the aids that you would reasonably be expected to use for each activity in the PIP Claim guide.
