welshlass wrote: Hello. just another update. We attended the face to face and found it most strange. It lasted less than 10 min and the assessor was out of the room for a few of those minutes checking something. They only asked a couple of questions regarding question 9 of the form and said we should hear somthing within a couple of weeks. We had completed most of the form! Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

It may be good news, if the assessor thinks that a claimant meets the criteria for the Support Group as soon as they start the assessment then they are required to check this with a senior assessor and then they would terminate the appointment without needing to ask anymore questions.

It's possible that this has happened to you.

ESA Decisions are currently taking 2-4 weeks,

Gordon

The brown envelope arrived today! Strange really as confirmed support group and rates but nothing about how the decision was reached, for how long the award could be or which descriptors might have qualified for entry to the support group? Very pleased but slightly bemused. Thanks for all your help and excellent guides.

Very pleased about the award, well done.

I'm afraid, as standard, ESA Decision Letters do not include any of the information you mention. You should be able to work it out by requesting a copy the assessment report, contact the DWP office dealing with your claim for a copy.

Thanks Gordon. Just come off the phone. Seems award is for 6 months. Very frustrating as he's been in support group since ESA started and had IB for about 15 years previous to that. We'll wait for the info to arrive and go from there. Thanks again.

More strange happenings. Dwp just rang to confirm the requested info would be sent asap. They seemed bemused at the short health assessment and lack of consideration to anything on the ESA form other than bowel problems. Is it likely that they might look again before we submit for a mandatory reconsideration?
