Hi-I was asked to transfer from DLA (passed 4 years) to PIP. Filled in form using advice from this site. Took a week! Submitted with 28 pages of extra evidence. Progressive disability. Now, have to have a face to face consultation. Where am I going wrong?

Don't assume you are doing anything wrong, the number of assessment carried out on paper is extremely low and is very dependant on the claimants conditions, one where there can be questions over the level of disability that they have will make it far more likely to result in a face to face.

Hi Gordon
Thanks for your reply. I guess I'd presumed that my level of disability had been established by my Consultants, on paper over the passed fourteen years, which I sent to the DWP. I should have known by now a Nurse coming for an hours visit will be better able to judge than well experienced Consultants in fracture, pain, neurology, and physiotherapy!!! Here's to good overcoming evil!

Please understand, it is not your conditions that is being assessed but rather the limitations that they impose on your daily activities and specifically your ability to reliably complete each of the PIP activities on the majority of days.

Hi Gordon
Thank you so much for your reply again. You have summed up in one sentence exactly what I have to bear in mind throughout my face to face. I will let you know what happens tomorrow.
Gratefully yours

Hi Gordon
An interesting update to my PIP claim. A very nice nurse came to my house a few weeks ago to complete my face to face assessment. When she left I thought best prepare for an Appeal because I said and did daft things. Yesterday I received a letter from DWP saying they now had all they needed for my Claim which was all it said and arguably a total waste of money. Today I found out that I have been awarded PIP. What and why I have no idea because my Local Council informed me of a PIP Award in a Council Tax Rebate letter!! I think the American phrase, 'go figure' best sums that up!
