IT is likely that the DM will follow the recommendation of the assessor but not a given.

I would always advise members to include all of the things that they think are important to their claim, but having written documents for a living I know well that it is very easy to waffle and use a paragraph to explain something where a sentence might do.

Also presentation can be a key, so always try and include a summary of what you are including, perhaps in a bulleted format.

Know what you mean. When I first went back into education my though was how can I write so many words. After 5 years it was how can I keep it down to so many words.

Just had a letter re my council tax support saying, I had been reassessed due to the DWP telling them I had been awarded PIP. They are saying my income has changed. I was getting DLA Low Rate care, which AFAIK is the same as PIP Standard Mobility. I don't get any of my DLA High Rate Mobility as that all goes to Motability. That said I guess they still count it as income even if I don't get it. So I am none the wiser. I'll just have to wait and see. As you say it is not given and the Decision Maker will read the Doctor's letters and form and won't take them over the report of a paramedic (grabbing at straws here). I mean no one takes the word of a paralegal over that of a solicitor, do they?

The change will be because of the PIP award replacing the DLA one.

PIP does not have a Lower rate, the Standard rate is equivalent of the DLA MRC and the Enhanced is the same as HRC.

Still not heard from the DWP re PIP yet. Had a brown envelope the other day but it was just to tell me my ESA would be going up for the first time since I was moved from Incapacity Benefit; by a massive 48p. That will cover the rise in prices over the last 4 years, not.

The letter from the council just says I've been awarded PIP (and therefore lost DLA), not whether it went up or down. So not really any the wiser.

I have had the assessment transcribed, just need to finish double checking and timestamping. There are many things in the report that do not match what was said in the assessment. Still haven't had a decision yet, but I will start working on a rebuttal to the report, to save time if/ when it does not go in my favour. One thing, the Atos person does not seem to have taken account of recent court decisions (or ignored them), would the DWP decision make be more likely to?

What I was getting at was; My mobility component goes to Motability, and I was getting Low Rate care. If I do not get Standard or Enhanced Care and only get Standard Mobility my income from PIP will not change, just I'll have no car. As the old DLA LRC is the same amount as PIP SM. AFAIK
