Claiming Underpaid ESA backdated to 2014 was created by standswithafist
Have successfully had my ESA renewed, support group for next 3years.
DWP Have advised that as I have been in contributions made group, rather than means tested, that I may be one of the people Underpaid disability premium when migrating from IB to ESA in 2014 and will include a claim form with outcome letter.
Do either the Moderators or subscribers have any experience of this and is there a possibility that if I were paid a backdated lump sum that I would lose out on other means tested benefit eg housing benefit? Anyone been better or worse off?
Thanks.

This is all about whether you should have been paid an Income Related top-up at the time that your were transferred from IB to ESA. They will send you an ESA3 form that captures you financial information to see whether you would qualify.

Any back payment you are entitled should be disregarded for at least 52 weeks and would only effect your benefits after that if your total savings and assets exceed £6000.
