Health Assessment Dread was created by Louise Barrow
Hi I am new to this website,
I have always had a paper assessment and been in the Support Group for ESA, suddenly I have got an appointment for an assessment.
I called and was told that my GP had sent information that I was fit for work but when I visited my GP and he showed me what was sent he was appalled that I had been put in this situation. He gave me more supporting info in the form of a report by my CPN and he was confident that they would review the situation and revert to a paper assessment or at least agree to a home visit.
In the post today I got a letter informing me that I have to have an assessment on the 8/2/18. the up side to this is my partner is able to take me as it is his day off but I am already panicking about going.
Can anyone tell me what to expect?
I would be grateful for any info on what to expect and how to handle the appointment to get the best outcome, which would be to be in the support group for ESA, I have severe BPD, anxiety and depression, I have arthritis and sciatica so cannot walk or stand.
I really feel like ending it all, I have tried so hard to feel better by going out with the support of my daughter and even have done 2 hours in a charity shop when feeling well enough . My GP is amazed that this is happening to me and I am at the end of my tether.
Thank you for any help.

There is a section in the ESA Claim guides that covers the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.
