From Enhanced PIP to zero points was created by bazooka
Hi there, thanks for reading,

I will start by saying thanks for all the guides/advice over the years, it's been invaluable.

I was on DLA standard care from 2000-2014. Moved to PIP in 2005, and received 6 points for care and 0 for mobility on both my claim and reconsideration. Went to court and received high care and high mobility till 2018.

Just had my assessment by Atos, and received 0 points for both care and mobility. The assessor and award notice say there are no mention of blackouts/dizziness in my claim, yet I put a DR. letter in with my AR1, and it was all there with my original claim(which the assessor worked from, as it was mentioned in his report which I have a copy of).

Ive asked for a mandatory reconsideration, that's being looked at no earlier than the 5th Feb.

Is there anything else I can do/should be doing at this stage??

Many thanks for reading

Have you requested a copy of the assessment report, this will give you a better understanding of how the Decision was made. If not then contact the DWP office dealing with your claim.

If you have submitted you MR then there is little else that you can do other than start thinking about an appeal. I'm afraid that revision rates at MR are very low!

Cab you source more evidence that relates to your problems with the PIP activities?

Make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being asked to meet, many of the Descriptors have multiple requirements, all of which need to be met to score.

There has been a change of guidance in regard to seizures and black outs that may help you to score more points, have a look at the PIP Claim guide for an explanation.

Many thanks for the reply, Gordon. Much appreciated.

I have a full copy of the assessors report and a 5 page letter from DWP explaining the descriptors, and how many points I got for each, 0 points as I say.

I have a Dr's appointment next week, so she should write a letter.

I did not know about the descriptors, so shall read and understand them. I will also read the updated guide too.

Thankyou
