Hi Gordon I had my face to face today, last week I rang up and asked to record the interview, they told me yes but I needed 2 identical recorders to do so.
When I informed the interviewer she refused, I told her I had 2 but she said I needed 3, Also I needed permission, I said I have it, she then said it has t be in writing, I told her that is not what I had been told, I had been told to ring for permission which I had done so.
I ask f her if she would ring the customer service centre to confirm I had rang and gained permission but she refused
.she then said if I persisted to attempt to record the session she would terminate the interview and I would have to re apply.
Under duress I agreed to go ahead as didn't want the stress all over again.
I am asking what I should do, should I complain and ask for it to be recorded in my file or should I wait and see the result of her report.?

The assessor was mostly certainly incorrect in regard the requirements but they do have last say om whether the assessment can be required. if they were not informed of the request then this could be why they refused to allow it to continue.

I would certainly consider making a complaint

Hi Gordon, I have been awarded standard rate for needing assistance and Higher rate for my mobility until Feb 2022, however my Specialists letter confirms my disability will be life long.
Would this mean another face to face in 3 years and if so Should I accept and reapply in 3 + years or would it be better to ask them to reconsider the term to for life?

Hi Gordon not sure if you got my last email as not had a reply from you, I received my award details, I have been awarded standard for help and higher rate for mobility, however only until February 2022.
As my Specialist letters state my disability is of a permanent nature do you think I should ask for a mandatory consideration to award this permanently or should I accept the awards and apply again in 2022.
I would appreciate your advice on this.

Mods are not normally on over the weekend :)

The length of the award is part of the award so can be challenged, however although your conditions are life long, there is room in your award for it to be increased so an On-Going award may not be appropriate at this time, so you need to think whether you can argue a longer award than the three years. Basically, how likely are your conditions to get worse?

I do have to warn you that an MR cannot be limited to just the length of the award alone, the DWP can and will look at the points that you scored as well, so you need to consider what the risk to your current award is.

We haven't seen many challenges over the length of the award alone, most have been made in conjunction with arguments over the actual award. In either case the success rate has not been good with less than a handful of awards being extended.
