State pension invitation was created by William Hawthorn
I have been inivited to apply for my state pension. I have DLA indefinitely and ESA. I assume that my ESA will stop but what about my DLA. Will this just continue. Is there anything else I need to be aware of before I apply for my pension?
Thanks all.

Yes your ESA will stop. Your DLA will continue until you are invited to claim PIP.
I would do a benefit check using one of the online calculators, in particular check your eligibility for Pension Credit.

I agree with the basic premise but if you have been invited to claim state retirement pension now you ought to have been invited to claim Pension credit some time ago, for example if you were born in April 1953 you reached pension credit age in in 2016. If you were claiming ESA income related then you should have been given the age addition plus severe disability premium if you live alone. The same applies to Housing Benefit/Council Tax reduction, you should have had you council tax paid in full unless you have income or capital in excess of the pension credit levels. You should not have to pay the bedroom tax. If this is not the case and you have claimed HB/ESA IR/CTB then you are owed a lot of money. you do not have to tell them your age they already know it.The calculations can be complicated and the benefit calculators unhelpful and misleading. You can make an advance claim for Attendance Allowance alongside DLA and receive the highest rate care of either, but not AA alongside PIP. You cannot be told to claim PIP care from AA. The transition from working age benefits ought to be simple but it's not, made worse by transition from one working age benefit to another. You can back claim PC for three months. You won't get it right first time.

I realise that the OP does not mention what their DLA award is but they cannot claim AA if they have a DLA Care award.
Also the ESA Premiums ate only payable if they are entitled to Income Related ESA. They may be only able to receive ESA(CB).
