Ongoing claim was created by Simon
9 years I applied for esa and dwp I recs both but have not had to attend an assessment nor ever reclaim. 3 years ago I applied to go into the support group and again had no assessment and was accepted in 2 weeks.
I was told that I am on a ongoing claim for 8 years.
Everyone I know have been transferred (or failed) a year or more ago.
Any idea why I'm still waiting as every day for over a year I dread the postman and now I'm starting to have delusional thoughts as it's all I can think about

If you are worried about what is happening with your ESA claim then all I can suggest is that you contact the DWP office dealing with your claim, any recent letter that you have had from the DWP about your ESA will have the address and phone number.

However, your ESA claim is indefinite and will remain in payment at the current rate until a new Decision is made on your claim, so if you don't want to contact them, then you do not have to.

Contacting the DWP about this will not initiate an assessment.

Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I'm more worried about the fact I have not had any communication about changing from dla to pip and as I said 9 years with no contact or assessment and on a permanent on going claim. I'm the only person I know or have talked to who has not been switched to pip yet. Is this normal?

The project is already running a year late and even the revised date of 2019 seems optimistic.

Claimants are being chosen at random, so you could receive a invitation tomorrow or in a couple of years time, there is not way to predict it unless you opt to self-select and transfer now,.

Hi Simon,
Regarding the nightmare of waiting to be moved from DLA to PIP. Last year I felt just like you. I had been on indefinite DLA (lower rate care and higher mobility) for several years. I had done all I could in preparation for the change to PIP by using the guides on this wonderful site, preparing detailed explanations of my problems using additional sheets, and gathering together supporting evidence. I even prepared for the initial phone call to register my PIP claim. The waiting however was really getting me down, I couldn’t think about anything else. After giving it a lot of thought, I was reasonably sure I had a good case, so decided to report the worsening of my condition in order to initiate a claim for PIP. I felt that whatever the outcome, at least the waiting would be over. I cannot advise you either way as to what you should do, because only you know the strength of your case, but for me it worked out well. I ended up with the higher rate for both PIP components, awarded for 6 years (review in 5), and my wife was then able to claim Carers allowance as well. Whatever you decide to do, make full use of the guides on this site for both the form filling and the face to face assessment (look out for the assessor’s misleading questions (see benefitsandwork advice on this), make sure you tell them about all your difficulties, and don’t let them move on until you have). Wishing you all the best with your move to PIP.
Bengal.
