DLA to PiP was created by Mary64
Hi I have just received my paperwork to apply for Pip I am in High Mobility and lower Care. I got someone to help me fill in the forms. I have been advised she will ask for paper assessment on my case. Does this usually happen I thought I really would need to go for a face 2 face which I dread.

Thanks any advice on this.

You will not get a Paper Assessment without up to date medical evidence which clearly shows that there would be a significant threat to your physical or mental health if required to attend a face to face assessment. You should speak to you GP about their writing a suitable letter of support.

Mary may I also add to Gordon's great advice, I can also help you understand a little about Paper based assesments as I've been through it I don't know if it applies to Atos or AIS as their now known as mine was Capita?

I had a Paper based PIP in the end and yes they are as rare as hens teeth as Gordon has stated you need updated unambiguous information that is consistent to the funtional daily/Mobility ability's.

I had so much back up information from all directions and all up to date and at first they still even wanted to still do a home visit but my medics got involved and dealt with Capita because I could not cope, and Yes Capita did Mine PB in the end I have so many problems with physical health and mental health basicly i should be dead but still had to fight.

I hope this above will help Mary as for asking for a PB I doubt they would but stranger things happen. Good luck.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

A Paper Based Review is exactly what it sound like :)

The assessor will make a recommendation to the DWP based on the contents of your PIP2, any evidence you attach and any evidence that they source from your medical contacts.
