DLA to PIP was created by TallMeerkat
Hello, I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find where to search for it on this forum......
I'm just posting my PIP claim form after being on DLA since 2001 and awarded it indefinitely.

1. Do the DWP have access to anything relating to my DLA claim when assessing this PIP claim? Like levels of DLA awarded and evidence?
2. Does anyone know how long on average the wait is in the West Midlands for the face to face assessment (does this always happen?)
3. And then how long before a decision is made?

Many thanks.

You should have been asked when you made your claim for PIP whether you wanted them to include information from your DLA claim for your PIP. If you said yes, then it will be included providing the information is still available, the DWP regularly destroy old information when it is no longer needed.

If you have DLA evidence that you think is relvant to your problems completing the PIP activities then our receommendation would be to include it yourself, that way you can integrate it with your answers on the PIP2 and have surety that it will be reviewed.

I'm afraid we do not have any regional information, best guess is that you will receive an appointment for a face to face assessment in about 2-5 weeks with the appointment typically being another 2 weeks further on.

Not everybody has a face to face but the vast majoroty of claimants do when being transferred to PIP. The decision will be dependant on two things, the level of deatil you have provided in and with your PIP2 about your ability to complete the PIP activities and secondly, your conditions and how variable they might be.

Decisions take 2-4 weeks from the assessment.

In reply to the above I Also was on DLA indefinite and i was never asked if they could use it either? Seems odd some do and I diden't.

As for the time scales it's Capita that did my PIP and quite rightly as Gordons useful as always states the time scales are right for the Midlands and that's where I live too.

Capita are barstewards but in my case they got it all right and no lies I'm my report. I feel I was so lucky but deserved mine like many do.

Also if you have cncerete evidence and up to date you might get a Paper Based review but I had to fight for it or my medical team did as I could deal or cope.

I feel I was one lucky member that got a On-going award as I had been told most have a face to face. All I can add is make sure your PIP2 form is in line with your up to date evidence and it's not contradictory to you Medical evidence it seems every thing needs to be spot on for a PB assesment just stick to the truth on how it affects you and you cauld be lucky not to endure a FTF.

I wish you well on this horrible sad process. Good luck.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.
