Hi everyone looking for a bit of help and clarification on the special rules DS5100.

if you are already on the Enhanced Rate for both parts of PIP does special rules form DS5100 get you extra money per week ? If so does anyone know how much it might be ?

Many thanks for any help.

I'm afraid there is no extra money with PIP, is the person eligible to claim ESA? If they are then they should be entitled to the Support Group rate.

Hi Gordon, thank you for your reply :)

The person is already in the Support Group in ESA, think they are contribution based ESA, do you think they could get the severe disability premium amount under these special rules ?

Is there any other benefit available ?

Thank you so much.

To receive the Premiums they need to be eligible for Income Related ESA. ESA (IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

Asset and savings rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

I don't think there is anything they claim as a result of the DS1500 but they should put their information into one of the online benefit calculators.
