I can barley walk any distance ,unable to get in any car which I low level as it is too painful sitting , I take tablets that make me drowsy, I live alone so I have no help with anything, I cannot get any where without the car to do the shopping and get to work that is all have left I have been stuck in the house on my own for the last 3 years since my wife died. pip people say I cant have a home visit, and i still have to make the appointment which I feel; is very unsafe to myself and other road users this is making me very stressed out is there any I can do to ask them to give me a house visit

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I'm afraid you will not get a home assessment without your GP unequivocally stating that you cannot attend a Maximus's offices, the letters that they have written to date either did not address the issue or left some doubt as to your ability to attend.

Would it help if my doctor was to specify the reasons why I can't drive as you are right he only said in the letter to pip that I wasn't confident enough to drive he thought by telling them that I was going for knee replacement was enough. If you don't think that will do it I suppose I will just to put the address into satnav and hope for the best also would I be breaking the law if I continued to drive if I felt drowsy with the meds I am taking as its states don't drive if feeling drowsy where would I stand with pip. If I can't get a home visit it is possible I can get taken to the centre but it is 2 weeks after my appointment date I do need to see them as my dla finishes in April

It is not enough that you cannot drive (they will expect you to lose use Public Transport), your GP must state that there are no circumstances in which you can attend and that you require a home assessment, a fall back position might be to ask for a taxi to take you there and back.

Thanks Gordon but I can't use public transport a bus to the assessment centre would take over an hour and can't sit that long also I have problems with the prostate which means I just wet myself if I can't go also I can't get into normal size cars like taxis as it is to painful and to long a journey I also don't want to soil the seats of a taxi
