Reassessment

Reassessment was created by Tromador
As my PIP is due for review I recently had to fill in the form for what had changed. Mostly it was the same, but I noted a few areas which were worse.

I have now received an appointment for an assessment next week.

Is there anything I need to know differently than last time. I am half expecting them to be there with the form from my original application and trying to catch me out like a shady lawyer in a court room drama.

I will be going with the same friend who took me last time, which is great.

Additionally, the timing on the court decision about mental illness is both good and bad, I have generalised anxiety disorder, but I won't be able to get good evidence in time for the assessment. I do have a reference to it, but it is mentioned on the recent letter from my pain consultant, I don't have anything specifically from my psychiatrist (because they are really bad at communication, basically). Will that letter suffice as evidence of my anxiety disorder?

If you completed an AR1 Review form then the assessment should refer to back to your previous PIP2 form, although this will most likely be done when the report is actually written which will be after the interview completes.

As of today, there has been no revised guidance issued to assessors or Decision Makers in regard to the "change" in the Descriptors, all I can advise is if the issue is raised in your assessment that you clearly explain why you meet the criteria and see what happens.

Thanks Gordon

When I filled in the AR1 I didn't even mention my anxiety, as this wasn't being allowed, although I did note it on my PIP2.

Can I now raise it in the assessment, as in fact it is one of the things that has changed and for the worse.

You have misunderstood the changes, it's not that anxiety is not allowed it won't be considered for some but not all of the Going Out Descriptors.

Yes! Raise any you issues that you have at the assessment.
