PIP Evidence was created by sbir
Hi, i have a PIP assesment in 2 weeks at home, i have letters from my doctor stateing i find it difficult to leave the house and difficult to manage alone because of my mental health. Im not sure if this will qualify for the enhanced rate mobility part? I have also wrote how this effects me. I want to get it right the first time as im stressing going through MR etc. Was wondering is there anything else to give me a best chance of qualifying like a better worded letter?

If you are saying that you would have problems leaving the house then you are assessing yourself as meeting Descriptor(e) at best, this scores 10 points and is insufficient for an Enhanced award unless you also score against the Moving Around activity.

See the PIP Claim guide for the criteria and points for the Mobility activities.

Thank you, also i have difficulty with my right ankle which was due to a fall over a year ago when i had a panic attack, its been on constant pain now and again i didnt seek medical attention due to goin in busy enviroments and having panick attacks. Doctor reffered me twice to a specialist to check it out. Should i include this for my moving around side? Also they have given me a home visit when i didnt even get around to sending a doctors letter would you know why they would do this? Thank you.

Hi omr i have just had a home assessment for mental health and would like to offer you advice. Read the questions you are likely to be asked aa they were extremely helpful to me. My assessor asked most of them and although my mental health is bad this doesn't mean we aren't intelligent. Being informed beforehand helped me from the first question. As some of them were asked nonchantly; as if no big deal when i knew they were important information gathering questions. Also if you can try to read other members questions as i pondered on why a couple of questions were asked that didn't make sense at the time. I got the aha moment after reading the questions and answers. Good luck.

The Moving Around activity only considers the physical issues that restrict the distance you can walk, so include details of the pain but not the anxiety as this will dilute you "message", issues with anxiety and leaving the house would come under the Going Out activity.

Remember, you need to be able to complete all of the PIP activities "reliably" and "on the majority of days.
