Complain to IAS re PIP? was created by Debs424
I’d been in receipt of DLA for approx 18 years. Low rate care, high rate mobility. Indef award. My health has deteriorated considerably over last 6 years. I had my PIP f2f back in Dec by IAS. Recorded. Requested copy of report - many inaccuracies and incorrect info. Decision letter as expected from report. Awarded std for both care & mobility. Sent off MR, (used your guides) waiting to hear. My question is this: is it worth making a complaint to IAS? What does it gain? Just wondering if it’s worth further stress or, on the other hand, would it add anything to my MR, possible appeal further down the road (if required) ? Btw, I’m in receipt of ESA, support group. Thank you.

Debs

Whether to complain or not had to be up to you.

Doing so is a completely separate process from any MR or appeal that you might make, although the results of any successful complaint could be used as evidence.

Be aware, whilst it would be unusual, making a complaint can result in the assessment report being withdrawn and a new assessment being required.

Thank you Gordon. I think that with all the stress caused by my PIP application I shall leave the complaint for now. I’ll consider it again, possibly, when I’ve had my MR decision. Thank you.
