P I P Mobility Reassessment-Psychological Grounds

On my original assessment in September 2016, I only scored 4 points for mobility. I did ask for a mandatory reconsideration nut never heard anything back from DWP.

Because of the unfair Mar 2017 decision against people with mental health conditions, I didn't pursue the matter

The Disability Rights appear to have fashioned a new template for a letter asking for MR again because of the recent court ruling and the DWP's forced U turn.

I am wondering whether it would be worth my while to follow this up now with a more detailed letter as suggested by DR? or am I going to shoot myself in the foot?

Your view on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you will do any harm by writing to the DWP but I very much doubt that it will do any good either, they have already said that they are going to reassess all claims to see if they need to change the award, that's about 1.6m claims, so I doubt they are going to be interested in prioritising claimants who have written to them.

Also, there is the issue of whether you actually qualify for a higher award in the first place, this may be controversial but I think that a lot of members are going to be disappointed with the results of this review, the simple fact is that most do not meet the criteria of if they do, then they have failed to show it!

I also agree with Gordon here too.

I know full well is should have fit the descriptor way above the recommended points and I was only given 4 points for it? but lucky I did fit the other descriptor in that section and got the 12 points.

As Gordon states it could take forever or in many cases I believe it to be never, they will push as many aside as know one will know if and when. I think it's just a ploy to make us feel better. Nothing less nothing more.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

Descriptors (d) and (f), I am ignoring (c) as the issues are different, are about a claimant following or navigating a route, to score you need to show that you conditions prevent you from doing this and why, to be clear, this is not about issues that you might have with leaving the house, in fact being unable to leave the house means that you would not score for (d) and (f).

Answers must start with the navigation problem and then lead back to the reason, other reasons are unlikely to accepted, at the risk of overly repeating myself, this is about navigating a route.

Hi Gordon, hope your well.

After reading this post and one other, I am a little worried that I may have my hopes up that the DWP change my award from 4 points to 12 for Mobility question 1.

I suffer from severe anxiety, recurrent depression and borderline personality disorder. I sent evidence from a personality specialist team, my consultant psychiatrist, a psychologist and my regular gp.
I cannot leave my house without another person because of overwhelming psychological distress that sometime causes panic attacks and dissociative behaviour.
Just to quote a few lines from some of the health professionals that sent evidence.

"Severe social discomfort ending in panic and dissociative attacks when exposed to open places with resulting severe avoidance"
"Needs constant assistance and guidance by her husband or somebody she trusts, otherwise she developes overwhelming panic and dissociative attacks"
"Kylie struggles with low mood and constant anxiety. Her functioning is severely impaired. She struggles to go out and struggles being around people"
"Cannot undertake even a familiar journey without help from her husband"

Am I wrong in thinking I should be awarded more than 4 points?
I realise what you say is only your opinion and not what the DWP are likely to do but I am just curious as to if I've understood the whole thing incorrectly or not.
Thank you in advance.
