DMobilityear Sirs,
When my wife migrated over to PIP from DLA she lost her High Rate Care and Low Rate Mobility, this was despite the assessor saying 5that she thought it would be okay.My wife was awarded Standard Rate Care and no Mobility. We asked them to look at it again and despite sending in evidence from the Occupational Health Team the award was not changed. We have now had to appeal the same and are waiting.
To make it worse when I migrated over to PIP I was not awarded anything I lost my Middle Rate Care and low rate mobility.
This meant that we lost all our premiums which enhanced our income aswell as the DLA payments. My Pension Credit went down dramatically from £92.00 per week to £14.90 .As I said we have both Lodged Appeals, but not being very well it is very difficult to manage.
To be honest the Assessor took the line of do not worry it be okay then I believe she slated us.
Any way fingers crossed for the Appeal-your site has been invaluble

Although it can be tempting to pursue the issues in the assessment report, understand that an award or increased award will only happen by your showing that you meet the criteria for one, so go back to the PIP Claim guide and make sure that you have shown that you meet the criteria for the Descriptors that you expected to score against.

I'm not saying to ignore the report, you should certainly deal with any major issues that it raises, but you are very unlikely to be successful just dealing with the problems it raises.

Remember, you must be able to do the activities "reliably" and "on the majority of days".
