I didn’t have any help with my pip- and I would never have made it to a tribunal - I ended up with a telephone conference type thing they were in their court and I was in my flat . I’m not good with words but I actually found it easier to answer questions about my ocd/ anorexia when asked specific things rather than the questions which are very focused..

Well, I'm not that confident! But my award length is at least as important to me as the right award. More so maybe. Might seem odd to say that, but a 3 year award at a higher rate would not be a win for me. My current award is 10 years with no need to review. Not saying it would stay that way-one never knows-but that's what I've got.
I'm a bit nervous now that it's close. Only because of the award length. If the award is not increased, I can live with that.

The award length is part of the Decision so the Judge must warn you if they have any intention of reducing it.

Hello.
I'll be honest. I'm bricking it. Until yesterday, I was okay. Suddenly, the idea that my award could be reduced has panicked me a bit. Unusual for me. A lot is at stake.

I rang up the HMCTS today to withdraw my appeal because I felt it wasn't worth the chance they could reduce my award. I have 8 points for each, standard for both. I also receive much more support on the back of this. I could lose thousands of pounds, theoretically, if the court finds a mistake in the DWP decision and points are reduced instead of gained.

It's on papers so I didn't know if they were keeping the date. They are apparently. Today. Less than 2 hours. I haven't withdrawn it yet...…… The bod at HMCTS said as far as he can tell, it's happening this afternoon. But, even if it is changed, the DWP can appeal the decision and it all drags out. Wish I hadn't started this!

Help!

As I said, the Judge must warn you if they are considering reducing your appeal, if this happens then you can withdraw the appeal. The DWP cannot revise the existing award.

If the hearing is this afternoon then you should hear by the end of the week what the result is.

Thanks.
I've just been having a bit of a wobble about it today. Indecision. My brain hurts!
I'll call the service tomorrow just to be sure that it went ahead.
I'll let you know the result when I get it and when I've recovered a bit.

Cheers Gordon
Take care
