Hi,
I was recently advised that I could apply for PIP as I am already in the ESA support group, but I was concerned about applying for PIP in that it might affect my ESA award. I was assured that both are different benefits and that refusal of PIP shouldn't affect my ESA award. However, I just came across this article on here that seems to imply otherwise -

It is from 2014, so may not apply now, but I really need some clarification before I send my PIP application as I do not want to jeopardise my entitlement to ESA.

I don't think we have seen anybody's ESA effected by a negative PIP claim but if you are looking for a guarantee, then I can't give one.

I was just confused by the article on here in the link I posted because it seems to be saying otherwise and I just wanted to know if the info in the link is still relevant?

You are reading more in to it than it said. The possibility of it effecting an ESA award exists but we have not seen it happen.
