Wife's Transfer to PIP from DLA was created by Chris Luff
The dreaded brown envelope arrived last week "inviting" my wife to claim PIP.

Today, we made the phone call. My wife, who is deaf, explained to the adviser that she was deaf and that she hoped he would be patient with her. He immediately hung up.

We phoned again, this time I made the call, explained my wife was deaf and the adviser was happy to deal with me, once my wife confirmed I could.

All proceeded well and the claim was made. At the end, the adviser asked "is there anything else I can help with?". I said yes, explained about the first call and said I wanted to make a formal complaint, was put through to a manager, who apologised and said that she would start an internal investigation.

Am thinking of using this as an example in the "Problems communicating" section of the form when it arrives.

My wife was very nervous and hesitant about making this phone call, this has done nothing to help her and made the situation worse.

I have also asked for the form to be supplied in .pdf format. Wonder if it will?

Almost certainly not, there is supposed to be a copy available, but as far as I am aware nobody on the forum has received one when requested.

It is perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the PIP2, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

Attach the pages to the back of the PIP2 using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

Well, the PIP2 has now arrived, in paper form of course.
Have been looking through medical reports etc for evidence to enclose. The latest specialists report is from 2014. Is it worth sending this?

Is it supportive of your current limitations? If it is then consider sending it but if you do then think about how you can integrate the information into to your answers on the PIP2.

Current update:
Form was sent off and letter received back "inviting" wife to attend a face-to-face assessment.
Letter was dated 1 day after return date of form. So obviously spent a lot of time looking at it.

Have now attended assessment. Held in a modern'ish office building with ramps and automatic main door. Parking with Blue Badge available right outside.

Assessment lasted 1.5 hours and was quite thorough. Informed results would be in 4 weeks.

Forgot to say, the assessor commented on how comprehensively the form had been completed.

Thank you B&W for your guides.
