Husband only awarded 4 points in mobility for prompting to avoid significant mental distress so got nothing for mobility. Will he be reviewed under new thing where gov gave in on unfair to mental health. We are in N Ireland & were interviewed by Capita. Just got award today 1 point off full care for 4 years & nothing for mobility when my husband can't go out the door even with an abcess without nearly a week to get used to the idea. He had to take Diazepam to get to the interview & didn't sleep for days. She thought he was very intelligent at the interview which apparently means you're not very mentally ill. She seemed v nice & told us not to worry as she was a mental health nurse so she understood. I don't know whether to ask for reassessment or not if they will automatically review it under new rules?
He has depression, anxiety, personality disorder,
Insomnia & daily headaches since 1995 & now also diabetes. He's support group ESA.
Waiting on my results as my assessment was 4 days after his. I have depression, anxiety & M.E.

The changes do not effect the Descriptors for undertaking a journey so whilst they will look at his claim again, there is no guarantee that it will result in a revised Decision.

If his problems are with leaving the house then he may not score higher, if they are with following a route then he might.

I would suggest that the first thing to do would be to ask for the assessors report, this should tell you how the accessor marked you and if there are any obvious errors, deliberate or otherwise, then that should give you some idea as to whether or not to apply for a MR. But do it quickly as there is a time limit. Other posts will go into more detail on MR

Good luck from a fellow Northerner

I phoned last Fri & asked for this so we'll see if there's anything obvious. Have been talking to local CAB also. Still waiting on my own PIP result.

It seems they assume that everyone with a mental illness must be a drooling incoherant mess.
