PIP result was created by Dizzy Gillespie
Hi,
I have previously asked a question about my PIP result which I thought was fair, however my PIP examination was on 1st December, 2017 and I was given standard rate for care which I had not received before and my enhanced mobility was reduced to standard. On 4th january I was diagnosed with peripheral vascular disease which affects my feet and calves and my walking I asked for a mandatory reconsideration. The reply was that the rates for mobility was to stay the same and I should inform the DWP of a change in circumstances. I telephoned today to report a change in circumstances and the chap I spoke to said I should appeal on the grounds of a new diagnosis. Is this right because I would be appealing against something they did no know about at my assessment.

If you can show that although not diagnosed you were effected by the Peripheral Vascular Disease when you were assessed then you should consider an appeal.

If not, or you think that you would stand a better chance of a higher award by asking for a reassessment then go that way.
