ESA MR, Request for Extension? was created by Rogue_One
Hi,

I was moved from the SG to the WRAG after my recent assessment.

Today I sent off my ESA MR letter. I didn't have any new evidence, so as per the MR guide, I noted this on the letter.

However, the medical evidence of my original claim consisted solely of a letter from a CPN, not my GP. (I assumed wrongly that the CPN's letter outlining my mental health problems would be enough evidence to keep me in the support group.)

Should I try and get new evidence from my GP, and request an extension to my MR waiting period?

Many thanks for any help

This is really a decision that only you can make, does your GP have an appreciation of your mental health issues? Are they likely to help, some GPs won't provide support to claimants?

What ESA activities did you expect to score for?

Hi Gordon,

I felt I quite obviously met the SG descriptors in Awareness of Dangers and Hazards, Starting and Finishing Tasks, Coping with Changes, and Behaving Appropriately.

Not keeping contact with my GP was an error on my part, so it's hard to predict their level of support. I relied heavily on my CPN's evidence letter, but that was not a recent letter. I still have two weeks before I see my GP due to waiting times, so I sent in my MR right away.

I noticed the reasonably high success rate for wrag to SG MRs, but not sure how much that depends on showing new evidence.

Thanks for your help, I'll have to weigh this one up.
