Having sent my PIP2 + evidence and not been called for a medical (yet), I've received the following letter. I'm wondering: does this mean I'm one of the lucky few who have got away without an assessment?! Internet searches on the letter are inconclusive.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The letter is only sent when the DWP have all of the information that they need to make a Decision, this includes an assessment report so they have done a Paper Based Review without needing to see you.

Thank you for the welcome and all the info.

A Paper Based Assessment: I understand they're very rare. Is there any information on what proportion of people who get a Paper Based Assessment are awarded the correct levels of PIP? I'm guessing or hoping that the DWP might do a Paper Based Assessment if the evidence supplied with the PIP2 is convincing enough for the decision maker to award higher level care and mobility component without a medical. I.e. I'm hoping the fact that I've been given a Paper Based Assessment is a good sign for my benefits decision.

Though I won't get the care component anyway cos I live in a care home

Cheers

I'm afraid not although the infrequency with which PBRs are done would suggest that only those with severe problems are given one should imply a significant award.

Just for closure and for if anybody else finds this by searching after they got a "We now have all the information" letter:
yesterday I received my award letter and it was for enhanced mobility and enhanced care.

"I made my decision using information about your health condition or disability including details of any treatment, medication, test results and symptoms. This information is the best available and enough to decide how much help you need without a face to face consultation. The information shows your health condition or disability causes you great difficulty with Daily Living activities. The information shows your health condition or disability causes you great difficulty planning and following journeys and moving around. This is consistent with your medical history, your description of a typical day, the available evidence, the information you provided about how your disability affects you and your GP report. I have considered what your needs are on the majority of days. I cannot consider awarding you PIP for any help you need for anything not covered by the daily living or mobility activities, including changing bedding."

(I made no mention of changing bedding or anything not covered by daily living or mobility activities, suspect that's a standard phrase.)

So if your evidence is good enough, it is possible to get awarded enhanced both components without a face to face consultation.

The Benefits and Work PIP guide was instrumental in me putting together such a good application that I have avoided the stress of a face to face consultation.
